FASHIONS ON THE FIELD

Fashions on the Field is an event where stylish and often extravagant outfits are worn. It allows individuals to showcase their style, creativity and fashion sense. It's an opportunity to express personal taste, gain recognition for unique ensembles and showcase your unique fashion sense with bold hats, vibrant dresses and attention-grabbing accessories.

Entering in a Fashions on the Field contest can be a fun and social way to engage with the event's atmosphere while enjoying the camaraderie with fellow fashion enthusiasts.

BEST DRESSED LADY

The best dressed lady, brings style, class & originality. Whether your style is classic or contemporary, our judges are looking for an Autumn race day standout. 

 

To honour Anzac Day, the theme is 'A Pop of Red'. Acknowledging the red from the poppy. 

 

To respect the day, we ask ladies entering best dressed lady wear a dress with hemlines of their dress at a respectable length with no dress cutouts or deep cut necklines. We welcome either your choice of a dress/skirt or pants. 

 

Millinery is a must, to compliment your choice of outfit. Autumn millinery is crafted from Felt, feathers, leather or fabric. 

 

The finishing touches on an autumn races outfit include, a clutch or bag, hosiery & gloves for a polished look. Deportment & personal grooming are also equally as important. 

 

BEST DRESSED MAN

The best dressed man displays a sharp sense of style & sophistication on Raceday.

 

A well tailored suit with original flair. Also adopting the ‘a pop of red theme’ & inline with Autumn racing fashion. Our judges will be looking for attention to detail in accessories & millinery to set the winner apart from the other contestants. 

 

BEST MILLINERY

Our judges will be looking for a standout millinery piece which makes a statement in quality & design, while complimenting your outfit. 

 

Your millinery should be suitable for Autumn racing, crafted from leather, feathers, felt, or fabric. The perfect balance of originality & wearability.

 

BEST DRESSED COUPLE

Must be 2 people. Both entrants should follow the criteria for best dressed. The judges will be looking for the co ordination of the couple, in their outfits & accessories, to display a cohesive look on stage.

The best dressed lady, brings style, class & originality. There is no specific theme this spring.

Whether your style is classic or contemporary, our judges are looking for a Spring race day standout.

 

To respect the day, we ask ladies entering best dressed lady wear a dress with hemlines of their dress at a respectable length with no dress cutouts or deep cut necklines. We welcome either your choice of a dress/skirt or pants.

Millinery is a must to compliment your choice of outfit. Spring millinery is crafted from variants of straw, feathers & light weight fabrics.

 

The finishing touches on a spring races outfit include a clutch or bag for a polished look (Hosiery & Gloves not essential). Deportment & personal grooming are also equally as important.

 

BEST DRESSED MAN

The best dressed man displays a sharp sense of style & sophistication on Raceday.

 

A well-tailored suit or dress pants & shirt, for the warmer day, with original flair. Also adopting the ‘Spring Blooms & in line with Spring racing fashion.  Our judges will be looking for attention to detail in accessories & millinery to set the winner apart from the other contestants. Hats are preferred but not essential

 

BEST MILLINERY

Our judges will be looking for a standout millinery piece which makes a statement in quality & design, while complimenting your outfit. 

 

Your millinery should be suitable for Spring racing, crafted from Straw, feathers, or lightweight spring millinery materials. (Not felt)

 

The perfect balance of originality, wearability & craftmanship.

 

MADE BY ME (A NEW CATERGORY)

Following the same criteria as our Best Dressed Categories, this one is for all our creatives.

 

To be considered for this category either your outfit or Millinery must be made by you personally.

You must not be a business, commercial dressmaker or milliner
