Whilst Bathurst Thoroughbred Racing may have a small group of staff, it is their varied and unique skills and experience that allow each day at Tyers Park be a seamless as possible.
Michelle Tarpenning – General Manager
Michelle has been with BTR since 2011 in various event and race day based roles, before her taking on the role as General Manager in early 2012. Michelle implemented significant changes, both on track, around the grounds and administratively. She brings enthusiasm and vast experience to the club in many aspects of project and event management, community engagement and development and also office administration. Michelle pioneered BTR in its infancy, developing the brand and steering the club in a new community focused direction that it is today.
Mackenzie (Max) Hill, Track Manager
Mackenzie has been involved in sports turf management since 2016. He studied and practiced on the Golf Courses of Central Otago in New Zealand before relocating to Melbourne to undertake an Internship at Flemington under the then Track Manager Mick Goodie. He has countless race days including two Melbourne Cup Carnivals under his belt, which has given him a wealth of knowledge in racecourse preparation and presentation, and an undying love of the horse racing industry as a whole.
Alison Webster – Administration
Alison has been working in horse racing in the Central West since 2001 and brings a wealth of knowledge on and off the track to the team. With her strengths lying in financial accounting, administration and office assistance it is without a doubt her race day administration is unsurpassable.
